Flash’s 10th Birthday Party - Adobe Users’ Group (AUG)

I recommend checking out the Manhattan Adobe Users’ Group meetings. They’re basically free siminars, usually about Flash, that happen once a month. It’s a good place to meet other developers and to eat free cookies. They’re also looking for presenters so if you want some practice speaking before a group, this could be the place for you.
At the August 2nd meeting we’re going to be celebrating Flash’s 10th birthday! (Has it really been that long? You’ve grown up so fast! *sniff*). And get this, as a party favour they’re giving away a free copy of Studio 8 as a door prize! The format is going to be ‘open mic’ style apparently so bring something to show and tell. (I’m going to be doing a top ten list) I think there will be snacks and perhaps even some beers.

As a professional Flash user, it can sometimes be hard to define exactly what it is that I do. There’s a little bit of design, a little bit of animation, a little programming… somehow neither “web designer” nor “software developer” really suffice. After a quick look through the classified ads is likely to reveal opportunities for “Flash Guru”, “Flash Dude”, or “Rockstar Flash Developer”.
